Henry Maria Krips, MBE was an Austrian-Australian conductor and composer, best known for his 23-year record term (1949–72) as principal conductor of the South Australian Symphony Orchestra (it had been founded in 1936 as the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and reverted to that name in 1975). He is credited with introducing the works of Gustav Mahler to Australian audiences.
