The fourth volume of this well-received series, is subtitled ‘Post-Adolescent Shrewdness’ and covers Book 6 of the Péchés de vieillesse. This substantial works of 13 books offers the listener an ironic and irreverent look – visually and aurally of human life.
The Album pour les enfants dégourdis, or ‘Album for Bright Young People’, ‘ is a collection of twelve pieces describing such everyday human activities as early morning exercises, meditations on what is past and gone, dances and even a railway journey from the screech of breaks to the arrival at the station. The collection ends with Un enterrement en Carnival which could be a burial or a carnival masker – we don’t know. However, it’s a brilliant conclusion and seems to say that life goes on and we can never know what tomorrow will bring.
Marco Sollini has been lauded by critics and fellow musicians for his energy, technique, and sincerity.
