Meng Su’s solo guitar CD opens with the beautiful and moving work ‘Avner’s Theme’ by famed film composer John Williams, who allowed her to record the unpublished work he composed for the feature film “Munich”.
Other works are Castelnuovo-Tedesco’s playful and spirited Sonata ‘Omaggio a Boccherini’ Op. 77, the celebratory Fourth Lute Suite by Bach, two little jewels by Tárrega: ‘Gran Vals’, which was most famously used by the cellphone company Nokia as their telephone ringtone, and ‘Rosita’, as well as the amazing Five Bagatelles by English composer William Walton. The CD ends with ‘Rounds’, another work for solo guitar by John Williams.
