The Verdehr Trio has commissioned and performed over 22 new works. Featured on this CD are several firsts and lasts for the Verdehr Trio. The two Hutcheson works were the first works commissioned by the Trio, both written within the first five yesrs of the Trio’s founding in 1972. The last major commissioned work was David Winkler’s Warhol Appassionata. George Gershwin’s Promenade, the final piece on the CD, was the last piece performed by the Trio, as an encore on their final concert March 28, 2015 in Leon, Mexico, the 58th country in which the Trio had performed during its 43-year tenure.
