The album Hedr from celebrated Kurdish artist Aynur was the number one album in March 2020 at the Transglobal World Music Chart. It has been a consequent step in Aynur's career to arrange and produce her new album by herself and with this new recording, which combines Kurdish traditional music with jazz elements and contemporary sounds, she is bringing the Kurdish tradition into the present. In 2017, Aynur received the Master of Mediterranean Music Award in the category of "Mediterranean Women in Action" from the Berklee Mediterranean Music Institute. This award recognized Aynur's efforts to preserve and transform Kurdish folk music, which has made her an influential role model for other female artists in the Mediterranean music scene who are seeking to share their voices. She says of this new recording: "Hedur is a word in my mother tongue Kurdish. It means finding consolation and solace from the passing time. It refers to that instant that we 'fall in' and we manage to stop time and take a break from the brutality of it. Journey of Hedur, the album is therefore a search for the inner peace of myself through the sounds of my mother tongue and the music of the entire humanity."
