Already during his lifetime, Ryszard Bukowski was considered one of the greatest Polish personalities of his generation thanks to his constant composing, teaching and popularizing activities. Nowadays, more than three decades after the artists death, his versatile output is partially forgotten. Therefore, the present album is the perfect attempt at reviving the memory of this great composer. In the composers comprehensive oeuvre, including stage, vocal and instrumental, symphonic and chamber forms, piano pieces are of great importance. In addition to numerous miniatures, the artist composed ten sonatas and seven pieces featuring a concert piano. Four of them that are included on the present album make us realize how at ease he was with smaller cyclical forms.
