It all started with a rejection. Flutist Erik Drescher applied for a cooperation with composer Peter Ablinger at the end of 2019. Initially, it was supposed to be a kind of continuation of the joint 2014 album Augmented Studies, especially an extension of the multi-track pieces for (then) 16 or 22 flutes.
The rejection came in February 2020. Then came Covid-19. They both had nothing to do and decided to start their project unfinanced, of course. Here we are, almost two years later, and the album appears.
Erik Drescher presents a multiinstrument hologram of new flute music, not to be missed by anyone who is curious enough to embark on a journey into the unknown.
Kairos is the Greek word describing the opportune moment hardly ever in the labels history it has been as appropriate as for the release of this album.
