This new release presents a recording of 24 Caprices for Solo Violin, Op 22 by Pierre Rode (17741830).
The 24 Caprices of Pierre Rode were published in 1819, almost at the same time as the famous Caprices of Paganini. Although the latter are more recognizable and enjoy great popularity, Rode's compositions not only posing great challenges to the instrumentalist, but also bewilder with the beauty of their cantilena and their energy.
Rode revealed in his caprices not only his compositional skills, but also his thorough understanding of pedagogy, as befits an experienced music teacher and author of a textbook on learning how to play the violin.
It is Roksana Kwasnikowska who records the Caprices here. Roksana has received awards in many prestigious national and international competitions, including at the Tibor Varga International Violin Competition (Sion), the 1st International Music Competition Karol Szymanowski (Katowice), the International Competition of Ludwig van Beethoven (Hradec).
Roksana is a regular concert soloist throughout Europe (France, Estonia, Italy, Czech Republic, Germany, Switzerland, Austria), Asia (China, South Korea, Japan) and North America, and has performed twice in New York's Carnegie Hall. Roksana has performed, among others with the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra, the National Philharmonic Orchestra, the Lviv Philharmonic Orchestra, the Janacka in Ostrava.
