Announcement, Manuel Rodriguez Guitars: Over 100 Years of Classical Elegance

Manuel Rodriguez guitars have become well known for exceptional quality and careful craftsmanship. The reputable and established company has been making guitars in Spain for over 100 years, with their instruments being played by renowned musicians of all styles.

In 1905, a flamenco guitarist, Manuel Rodriguez Perez, introduced a luthier workshop in Madrid. Perez presented great skill in his craft and the guitars produced quickly became established and renown for not just the beautiful tone and playability but also for the careful construction and aesthetics.

In the following years Manuel Rodriguez II, Perez’s son took over the workshop and continued the flowering tradition to build guitars with the same panache and elegance expected of his predecessor.

Forwarding to 1959, Manuel Rodriguez II then moved the workshop to Toledo, Spain. The move was not by accident as the region has been the epicentre of guitar making for centuries, with the region’s craftsmen being known for their invaluable expertise and fine attention to details.

To this day Manuel Rodriguez guitars are still manufactured in the very same workshop in Toledo. The company continues traditional methods of guitar making techniques, with each and every instrument being handcrafted with a team of skilled luthiers.

Manuel Rodriguez guitars also make their instruments with the finest materials including Spanish cedar, eucalyptus and spruce, with other materials usually procured in Europe. The guitars are also hand finished, each unit bringing a special unique look and feel to the product.

The guitars are known for their rich, full and piano-like sound quality. Also renown for their comfortable playability. The company has grown its range of guitar edition to include Ecologia; Using locally produced materials, Tradicion; Tradition construction and materials, Academia: Traditional Spanish heels and construction, Superior; Exceptional cuts of wood, Magistral; Contemporary finishes and features, and Signature Legacy; All handmade using finest materials.

Throughout these ranges the guitars produced are characterised as well balanced and easy to hold and to manoeuvre, making them perfect for classical as well as flamenco music.
