Criss Cross Jazz

Based in Eschende, The Netherlands, Criss Cross Records was founded by Gerry Teekens in 1981, releasing over 400 albums between 1981-2019. Teekens was a linguistics professor and semi-professional drummer, using his time away from lecturing to record musicians like Chet Baker, Jim Raney and Warne Marsh on their European tours. Throughout the 1980s he would make regular trips to New York to record new up-and-coming musicians, and nowadays the Criss Cross catalogue also includes many new American artists. Teekens sadly passed away in 2019 at the age of 83, and Criss Cross Jazz continues under the management of his family.
