This CD is the first in a series of four, (In Search of Don Ellis Series) one CD every 3 months.
This first CD is from 1966 when Don was the first jazz artist to bring in Indian music and his group was called The Hindustani Sextet. Don studied at the UCLA and then taught there and performed for all the students and this is one of these performances.
All these recording have never been heard before and come from Don’s personal reel to reel tapes.
We are working with Don’s son Brav Ellis who will provide us with rare photos and information for all the booklets.
Also the Ken Orton archive giving us access to Don’s own letters, music and bio.
These recordings will be a limited edition of 500 and each Cd is numbered and will become rare collector items.
