Recently profiled in LA Weekly as one of the leaders of a new roots reggae movement in Los Angeles, The Expanders have come to be known for their vintage rockers style of reggae, played in the tradition of classic 1970s Jamaican groups like The Ethiopians, Culture, and The Mighty Diamonds. HUSTLING CULTURE, their third full-length and first on Easy Star Records, is their finest work yet, with a powerful and original set of songs emphasizing three part harmonies, inventive guitar work, vintage keys sound, and a pounding rhythm section. Also voted Break Out Artist of the Year in the 2014 Pier Awards, the band is poised for an even bigger breakthrough in 2015.
