My Favorite Things was the first album in which John Coltrane played soprano saxophone in addition to his usual tenor. His soprano sax dominates two of the album's four tracks, including his unforgettable cover of the title track written by Rodgers and Hammerstein for the musical The Sound of Music. Released in March 1961 the album was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1998, certified gold in 2018 and it's considered a masterpiece would inspire several generations of fans.
This release is part of the New Ermitage collection available from January 2024: 18 jazz and soul titles reissued on yellow vinyl with new codes and renewed graphics.
