"Miles Ahead" was the first album recorded together by Davis and Evans, who would later continue their partnership with albums such as "Porgy and Bess" and "Sketches of Spain". Gil Evans structured the ten songs that make up the album in a sort of suite, without interruptions between tracks. Davis, unusually on flugelhorn, is the only soloist in Miles Ahead, arranged with a characteristic horn section. The album was awarded the 1994 Grammy Hall of Fame Award and celebrate the new "cool" sound that was associated with it and which gave birth to a new jazz style.
