Recommended Sheet Music, Adam Kornas: Open String Tunes

Open String Tunes is an exciting new publication from Hal Leonard, targeted at absolute beginner violinists. The idea for the book arose from the need to solve the problem of the lack of genuinely engaging or exciting performance repertoire for pupils at this level. Keeping beginners motivated at the early stage is crucial in ensuring that they keep learning, and so this book aims to provide inspiring repertoire which can also be used alongside the teacher or student's preferred method. The book contains thirty pieces, progressing in difficulty, and only using open strings. Each piece includes expert practice tips and backing tracks in a range of styles including hip-hop, movie music, and pop.

Author Adam Kornas is a Royal College of Music graduate, violin teacher and performer. He creates a range of popular music videos, which you can find on his YouTube channel, playing violin covers of classical and pop music, as well as a selection of music from popular films and television shows.
