Ondes Martenot

The Ondes Martenot is an early electronic musical instrument invented in 1928 by Maurice Martenot. Most notably used by Olivier Messiaen, composers of music for the Ondes Martenot include Richard Rodney Bennett, Jacques Charpentier, Bohuslav Martinů, Ivan Tcherepnin, and Andre Jolivet. Famous Ondes Martenot players include Thomas Bloch, Jonny Greenwood, Tristan Murail, Jeanne Loriod, Christine Ott and Valerie Hartmann-Claverie.
