A haunting 'Invocazione' and a passionate 'Romanza' separated by an 'Intermezzo' suggestive of an antique dance. This work, lasting 16 minutes, was inspired by the rich and romantic performing style of the dedicatee, Elizabeth Jane Baldry, and is written in Lewis' usual audience friendly style which owes nothing to any modernist fad or fashion. This piece is a valuable addition to the harp chamber music repertoire, being a romantic and intense work, haunting and melodic throughout, accessible to audiences and written by a composer who has always loved and understood the harp, whose solo harp works are in exam syllabuses in the UK and whose music is always beautifully crafted for the instruments involved.
