In his Services, Weelkes often quoted passages from one of his anthems; here, at 'and the rich he hath sent empty away', and at the 'Amen' of the Nunc dimittis, the parallel is with the Full anthem 'O Lord, grant the King a long life'. The 'Amen' of the Nunc dimities is virtually the same as that of the anthem, while the above-mentioned section of the Magnificat is a contract of 'so shall we always sing and praise thy name'.
