Within our darkest night is an inspirational service in three sections:
- The darkness of war
- A generous love
- A prayer for Peace
Within our darkest night brings together the themes of Darkness to Light, War and Peace, Love and Hope and demonstrates that whatever the circumstances the Love and Light of Christ will never die or be extinguished. It o ffers participants the chance to explore these themes through readings of personal experiences, biblical texts, music, the lighting of candles and through the prayers both spoken and unspoken.
Through carefully chosen juxtaposed readings, prayers and music, Within our darkest night remembers conflict and war, prays for those affected by war, especially those that have died, and gives thanks for God’s peace and love, open to us all. Individual items may be used throughout the year in school assemblies, church services, and other occasions.
