David Bednall's Fanfare-Processional for Organ. Composed 2010.
'A work that reflects a constant revivification of tradition - most notably, in the expected treatment of D major tonality(not fully resolved at the end) - this brilliantly effective piece successfully combines the essence of a church procession with elation: the tempo is relatively (but only relatively) slow, the musical expression being of apositive character making a modem recessional as if preparing to leave the church before breathing in fresh open air in the concluding section. Bednall's work is extremely well written technically; it would make an excitingeffecton any uplifting occasion.' - James Palmer
