Mozart''s fugues in E flat (K153) and in G minor (K154) were fragmentary works written for piano, although they are more commonly played on the organ. The original keys have been retained in these flexible arrangements for three saxophones. The preferred instrumentation is for alto, tenor and baritone. However, alternative parts are included for soprano, alto and bass saxophones allowing for various combinations: alto (or soprano), tenor (or alto), baritone (bass). The bass part is an alternative to the baritone part and is written in the upper register of the instrument '' providing a rare opportunity for this uncommon saxophone to explore the expressive quality of the top of it''s range.
