Written for William Waters in December 1974, and revised in 2020. First performed in April, 1976 in Cambridge by William Waters. Originally titled ‘Pictures at an Exhibition.’

Revised version first performed by Saki Kato at the Lake District International Festival, on the 6^th of August, 2021, at Ambleside Parish Church.

Inspired by a Tate exhibition in the 70s of paintings and watercolours by Turner, this piece uses the subtle and intimate medium of solo guitar to express the often wild scenery Turner experienced while travelling round Europe.
