This short piece for chamber orchestra was the first to utilise a number of methods, techniques, processes that I have continually developed and explored since. The title was taken from Kandinsky’s treatise on non-objective painting and there are many obvious parallels, aside from points and lines, that can be explored through sound and this brief prelude plays with a few of them.
