Intermediate. These pieces were all written during my time as brass and classroom teacher in Karratha. Karratha is a small town in the north west of Western Australia. Part of a region called the Pilbara. I arrived in Karratha in July 1997 straight from Lancashire to take up the position with the WA Education Department. Music and brass wasn’t really happening. As I built up a program over the next seven years, I found myself writing some solos for my students to play. The titles all have their own inspiration; Pilbara Time, Crazy Shady, After Closing and On the Burrup. Peter Younghusband
